The forthcoming cricket schedule has undergone a major alteration by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Originally scheduled to take place in Multan the ODI tri-series between South Africa New Zealand and Pakistan has been moved to Lahore and Karachi.

This decision intends to host the Champions Trophy beginning February 19 ¹ at the renovated Gaddafi Stadium and National Stadium which have undergone major renovations. The PCBs faith in these renovated venues is demonstrated by the decision to divide the four-match tri-series between Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and National Stadium in Karachi. Notably both stadiums now have more space—Lahores Gaddafi Stadium can now hold 35000 spectators—new digital replay screens and a completely new players and hospitality enclosure ¹.

The calendar is also impacted by the move because none of the seven Test matches this season were held in Karachi or Lahore. The Gaddafi Stadium is expected to be inaugurated in the final week of January and the PCB guarantees that all upgrade work will be finished by the deadlines.
